CE Credits

CE Credits (General)

Q: How many CE credits will I receive for the conference?
A: The number of CE credits correlates to the number of CE sessions you attend. For a session to be included on your attendance record, your badge must be scanned upon entering and you must attend the full session.

Q: Is the conference RACE accredited?
A: No, the conference is not specifically accredited by RACE, but the OAVT aligns with the RACE Approval Standards Document.

Q: How many CE credits is each lecture session worth?
A: Lecture sessions earn one (1) CE credit each. It is important to be familiar with your regulatory body’s policies to understand how many CE credits the sessions may be worth.

Q: Are workshops or hands-on labs worth more credits?
A: In some cases, workshops or hands-on labs may be worth more credits as they run for longer periods of time. It is important to be familiar with your regulatory body’s policies to understand how many CE credits the sessions may be worth.

CE Credits (OAVT Members)

Q: Will all of the CE credits apply to Category 1?
A: No, not all of the CE content offered applies to category 1. When you are entering the sessions in your CE record, you will find the titles separated into two categories: medical or non-medical. Each CE session is already classified within the member portal, therefore you will not need to identify which category it belongs to.

Q: Will CE credits be automatically applied to my account?
A: No, each member is responsible for reporting their own CE credits in the OAVT Member Portal. This includes exhibitor staff who attend sessions.

Q: How do I add the conference CE credits into my CE record?
A: You will need to add each session individually to your CE record. All sessions will be listed by title in the Accredited section of your CE record in your member account.

You must have your certificate and session attendance record to add your credits. The OAVT will not accept confirmation of registration, receipts, invoices, photos of delegate badges or any other form of documentation.

If you require further guidance, reference the Adding CE Credits guide on the OAVT’s website

Networking Reception

In the Trade Show join us to explore and meet our exhibitors, enjoy food, wine & cheese, drink, entertainment and network with old friends while meeting new ones.

The networking reception will run from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and begins immediately following the last session of the day. No need to return to the hotel. Stay and enjoy!

My Agenda

Q: How do I let you know what sessions I will be attending?

A: Each registrant can create a personalized agenda. When looking through the schedule, click the blue “Add to agenda” button which will save it to My Agenda.

Adding items to your agenda is an expression of interest, not a guarantee of attendance. Sessions are first come, first seated until the room capacity is met.

Due to fire code restrictions, additional chairs, standing room, or sitting room cannot be accommodated.

Surveys

Q: How do I provide feedback about sessions or speakers?
A: In the conference app, there is an evaluation attached to each CE session. Evaluations and constructive feedback will be shared with speakers after the event.

Q: How is the content selected?
A: Each year, the OAVT’s Speaker Planning Committee works hard to evaluate and select continuing education topics for the next conference.

Q: How do I get involved in the Speaker Planning Committee?
A: If you are interested in participating, please contact us for more information about the committee roles.

Q: How do I provide feedback about the conference?
A: The Conference Survey will launch Saturday afternoon. Attendees that complete the survey while on-site, have the opportunity to receive a free giveaway (while quantities last).

Q: Are meals included with my pass?
A: Yes, breakfast, breaks, and lunch are included based on the pass you purchased. Access to the kick-off and reception are also included, and will offer plenty of food.

Q: Where are meals and breaks located?
A: Breakfast and lunch are in Chedoke BC (Level 3). Breaks will be located on each level.

Q: I have an allergy or dietary restriction, how do I know what I can eat?
A: The menu has been planned to accommodate allergy or dietary restrictions. However, there will be a unique section at the back of Chedoke BC that contains food that is specific to dietary restrictions that will enhance your plate. This area will be identified as dietary. If you have a specific concern please speak to the server.

Badge Scanning

NEW THIS YEAR: You must have your badge scanned each time you enter a Session room in order to receive CE.

Exhibitor Scanning: By having an exhibitor or sponsor scan your badge at an event, you are opting in to share your full contact and demographic information with that exhibitor. Your contact information would then fall under that exhibitor or sponsor’s privacy policy which you may request from them.
